I rather agree that modern law, law enforcement, law writing is well disconnected from healthy rationality.
People blovate in special buildings, then it is ink smeared on wood pulp, bound in leather and placed on oak shelves and then other people run around with guns, more or less kidnapping people, that a bunch of people in the book room argue about stuff.
I’m at the point where I’d just as soon get rid of all law, have everybody with guns and frontier justice, and if time, a trial.
It would save a lot of money, time and bother.
