Just so happens I live in Big Spring and the young lady who died was the daughter of my shop foreman. She lived 2 house’s down from him, the shooting woke him and his wife up. This was a known drug house that had already been the victim of a drive by earlier that month. The gang wars started right after the prisons opened up and are progressivly getting worse. We now have 3 private prisons and one federal, in a town of less than 20,000 people.

When prisons come to town people think they bring jobs. Unfortunately they also bring the lowlife families, friends and cohorts of the inmates.

Sorry to hear that. I used to drive to Big Spring from Midland once a month for kennel club meetings. I had a number of friends there, altho I don’t know if any are still there.
