thats all fine and good back in August, right after she was announced.
But what’s the point of his little stunt today? He didn’t go after any other Republican. Didn’t make any cracks about Huckabee, who he should have a huge gripe with as Huckabee basically cost him the nomination. Didn’t go after Sanford, Pawlenty, Crist, Jindal. Didn’t even say anything about McCain.
It’s a non-partisan gathering, no election, no campaign, no nothing, and he decides to go after someone. BTW, it’d be the same thing if he had said something about any of the above guys. This just wasn’t the place to do that. A real tough guy he is. Hunting varmints and all that.
Instead, he takes the opportunity, in a speech where nat’l political journos are at, and tons of people in the conservative movement are at, where he knows it will be covered and reported on TV, and doesn it right away so no one misses it and there’s no chance that anyone leaves a few minutes into the speech and singles her out as object of his ridicule.
You don’t think those liberals at MSNBC and CNN and all the others will be highlighting this and airing it and getting there giggles in.
It just rubbed me the wrong way. There’s certain things you don’t do. It’s like when McCain ran that ad back in 2000 and said Bush “twists the truth like Clinton”. That was just a cheap shot. Or when Obama said Hillary was “likeable enough”, or flipped her the bird in his speech, or entered his IA victory party to “99 problems but a bitch ain’t one”. Certain things give you glimpses into a man’s character.
If I was her, I’d get on a jet tonight and fly in and make a surprise appearance tomorrow, give a speech and introduce Rush Limbaugh. It’d be a surprise like in wrestling. I’d even fly in Jim Ross so that when those opening chords of “Barracuda” ring through he can yell, “My God!!, My God, King, it’s Sarah Palin’s music!!”
It’s not a huge deal, but it just stuck out to me.
Showed a real lack of class there, didn't he? Me thinks he needs to polish up his act.
Romney is an idiot.
Anyone with a brain knows that that book deal was a rumor, stirred up by the likes of Oberman and Chrissy.
And Romney runs with it. Fool.
