Okay, that changes it a little. Romney’s ego won’t let him get out of the limelight. He is going to be a pain to the GOP.
Really? Check your history, do us a favor.
Primary wins don’t count. It is the general elections that matter. Please, the desperation is unbecoming.
She is still unrefined. I think she will only get better.
I think it was a fine idea by McCain to pick her, but I would have advised her to say NO. She really was a tad inexperienced for such a jump, and hitching her wagon to McCain was a shame.
I think she would have been better off giving a keynote at the convention, like Obama did in 2004, and then waiting for an opportunity to run herself. Being a VP or VP candidate pays off very little for Presidential aspirants. A winning VP rarely becomes elected POTUS. And I can’t think of a losing VP candidate that was successful in reaching the Presdiency, either.
So, I think that is where she screwed up. But I think she may have the political skill to reassemble her image. Besides, the campaign for 2012 doesn’t begin for at least another month or two. :-)
The past few years, he's one of the only folks that has the guts to take on Zero, the Clintons, and the MSM...
Weve all seen folks like Sanford, Steele, Pawlenty go wobbly recently It takes guts to talk conservative and in nearly every single forum and conversation, Romneys spoken like a unabashed, unapologetic conservative Last year, he ran as a conservative You may disagree with his motive, but you CANT argue that he ran on a conservative platform
Knock him all you want, but hes one of the few left, that takes on the slime.
I couldn't agree more
Desperation? You had a bald-faced lie in there, and you have the gall to call me desperate? Why don’t you apologize for your outright lie? Romney did NOT get clobbered in his re-election bid. Go ahead and retract it
Retracted.
However, you made the comment that you don’t care that Romney was liberal in Massachusetts, your only concern is that he ran as a conservative last year.
A mans’ past is a reliable predictor of future behavior. He is at heart a liberal don’t doubt it. We got a RINO in 2008, we don’t need another in 2012.
Look, hear me out for a second... If (and I have my doubts that he'll ever run), he ran, and got elected President on the backs of the conservative base... he'll be despised by the left... for running right, and beating H...
Do you REALLY think he'll risk the wrath of conservatives by shifting left and abandoning us? Then everyone will hate him... That's what W did, and look where that got him - 25% approval...
I truly believe that deep down, he could govern as a conservative... whether the governor of Utah, or as POTUS...
My hope is that a more conservative viable candidate --- with the stomach to fight--- emerges. Right now, I don't see any real leaders in our party... If you do, please share...
Potential leaders within the GOP: to name a few;
Sanford
DeMint
Pence
THESE 3 AS OF NOW
Palin
Jindal
IN DUE TIME (say early ‘11)
These are the leaders I see right now. Some are well positioned, others are not, some need a little seasoning, some don’t.
Don’t despair. Right now we need to concentrate on 2010 not 2012.
Demint and Pence... Both would be FANTASTIC POTUS materials, and I hope that one, or both run
Palin- as mentioned above, it pains me to say, finished as a national candidate. Jindal looked awful and fruity in the retort to H... Came across as a corpse, though solid on the issues...
Thanks for offering those up, by the way... I think Haley Barbour would be a good addition to that list.
