Last summer I became very ill for a long time after mowing some tall grass in my back yard, a process that stirred up a lot of dust. While researching what might have happened to me, I came across a description of something called farmer's lung that seemed to match my symptoms exactly.

Apparently this is usually caused by mold spores that might come from wet hay, etc, but it can be caused by other fine particulate matter found on farms.

I don't know if this justifies regulation, but there is no question that some types of dust from farming operations can make you very, very sick.

Your going to die someday, but I myself like to eat everyday.

Well then, just because of you and for the sole purpose of keeping you from feeling bad we will all just quit making dust.

You think none of us have a reaction to anything in excess? There are other people who can’t mow grass.

Here is a simple solution, don’t mow grass and stay away from dust.

There is also Valley Fever which is caused from spores in dust storms. You know nature is tough and if there were no farms there would still be natural grasses that could carry the spores.

Don’t worry too much because you’d likely starve before you caught anything bad, because I can guarantee you that farmers will not be able to control dust and if you can grow your food on cement, then more power to you...but I think cement dust is pretty caustic too.

Moral: Grow food, not grass.
