1) If the author of #33 feels (he clearly doesn't think) that #4 was a flame, he needs to grow a thicker skin.
2) The author of #4 could, I suppose, be called a Jeffersonian Liberal ... but he doesn't much care for labels at all.
3) The author of #33 seems to be a very confused individual ... even more so than the author of the vanity post that we're discussing.

The only way to truely enforce a prohibition is within a police state with severe punishments i.e. death/life sentencing, and even then you won’t stop all people from altering thier consciousness.
Inmates in prison can still get high if they have the right connections.
Prohibition just doesn’t work.
Abortion is WAY more damaging and sinful then smoking dope or watching porn, nobody has died from either but abortion kills every person it’s performed upon.

For example I would offer that it's in the best interest of the country to ban something that is in the worst interest of the country. For example if we had a communist power develop a drug that would make our citizens lazy and unproductive then nobody would argue that we should allow this power to freely distribute this drug in the United States. There would be no hew and cry about "states rights" Excellent post!

For example if we had a communist power develop a drug that would make our citizens lazy and unproductive then nobody would argue that we should allow this power to freely distribute this drug in the United States. There would be no hew [sic!] and cry about "states rights".To begin with, the expression is "hue and cry" (from the Latin: hutesium et clamor, "a horn and shouting"). To "hew" means to cut.
Secondly, a drug which makes our citizenry lazy and unproductive is already freely available throughout most of the Unites States. It is called alcohol. But alcohol does more than just make (some) people lazy and unproductive: When consumed by pregnant women, it can also cause birth defects. Marijuana, in contrast, does not cause birth defects.

I know what you are saying but it used to be controlled by local goverment and local enforcement. At least for the community that wanted to control it.

I don't much care for
any of the consequences of the "War on Drugs".
Has it ever occurred to you to wonder why liquor store owners manage to resolve their disputes with each other and with unruly customers through the police and courts, whilst cocaine store owners (so to speak) must resolve all disputes via gang violence?

For what it's worth. About $0.02, the standard, customary rate for bloviating.

He didn’t mash abuse. We spotted this one on our own - the mods keep an eye on drug war threads, there is a high probability of finding personal attacks. Knock off the personal attacks and name-calling or leave this thread.
