Been tried a couple of times in Washington. Tried to make a state called Cascade. Basically everything east of the Cascade mountains to the border of Idaho. Never worked.
If it were Oakland alone, would it be The State of The Jeffersons?
I talked to Maze the other day. He is very serious about this. I am one of those angry farmers saying “please God let it happen”. Bill said we would even offer to take the $42 billion debt from the wack job libs. No state income tax, pro business, conservative values, ... we would pay that debt off in a heart beat. Business would flock to the new state. Go Maze!!!! Getter done
> The most famous secession movement came in 1941, when several counties in Northern California and southern Oregon tried to form the State of Jefferson until World War II intervened.<
How bout’ NoDemfornia?
I have friends in Visalia and Reedley. I know they would be all for this.
Now might be a time to try it again???
Maybe I do want to move to the Central Valley after all. As a conservative in deep-blue Santa Clara County, I get mighty lonely out here...
Oh, and the coastal areas can have Imperial County. It votes pretty much like they do (large immigrant population).
So far, I really like this idea as I've articulated it here on FR off and on for at least the past 5 years!!!
My idea was that any county in contact with sea water including shipping canals/ports, or any international border would remain CALIFORNA REPUBLIC and the rest becomes SIERRA REPUBLIC!!!
This kind of talk just pisses me off. Splitting away from liberals isn’t going to solve a damn thing, unless you outlaw liberalism and Democrats at the same time. And you’d better lock your borders down tight to keep them from migrating into your new state.
The right thing to do, is defeat the lunatics, not cave in to them by leaving. Eventually, the whole darn country would be nothing more than a collection of non-contiguous, Balkanized states.
In the time it would take the red states to prove the blue states wrong, the (former) US would be attacked and rendered permanently impotent.
E Pluribus Unum, dammit.
How’s that working for you?
San Diego with a 70 mile coast line and a population over 3 million does not have in common much with the small inland towns in the mid and north.
A non starter.
Cut the state in thirds from west to east.
If that new state needs any $$$ I might send 1 or 2.
Unfortunately, the liberals have spread like a cancer to counties like mine(Placer).
Not going to happen. Liberal Dems rely on the 54 votes every presidential election cycle..
They can count on those 53 electoral votes every four years now - with this split they lose half of them.
They will fight this to the death.
Would be nice, but, unfortunately, I am living on the, shall we say, “WRONG” side of the track :>)
Make a statement. Take a position. Ask a real question.
Or, just keep throwing peanuts from the balcony.
ONE SECOND! Beaten by one second
