Remember the scene in the movie where there are 2 lines of people headed in opposite directions?
Also, if you compare the 2 countries years after the split, one is relatively prosperous, while the other is a crap-hole.
One embraced sanity, while the other embraced insanity. The differences are obvious.
I “predict” that any split of the USA will have the same outcome. The LSA (Liberal States of Amero) will be the crap-hole, while the CSA (supreme irony!) will prosper.
We'll need a big, strong “fence” & a tough immigrant screening policy, or in a few years we'll be back in the same boat.
First of all, if you are going to blame all of Germany for the way East Germany is, you are truly absurd.
Secondly, East German infrastructure is about the most modern in the world. Since reunification more than $1 trillion has been spent to build up east German highways, trains, high speed internet etc.
In fact, I would East Germany looks more modern than the West.
Sorry to contradict you, but reality is hard to argue with. Germany does not look like Mississippi.
How do you explain the fact that most Southern states receive more in federal money than they pay and that most northern states pay more than they receive?
We’d definitely have to have a tough immigrant screening policy, plus NO BENEFITS for those who will not work. (Notice I didn’t say “cannot”).
We hear stories all the time of liberals moving out of their craphole states and bringing their liberal ideas with them, never understanding that it is these very ideas that caused the craphole they escaped from.
Another thing to remember is that these fascist liberal bastards’ main driving principle is control over your life. This is why they will never allow an amicable separation.
Conservative PEOPLE working in high paying jobs.
Those PEOPLE will move to a freer economy if the opportunity exists.
(States don’t pay income tax. The welfare class in the blue “states” outnumber the productive class.)
So in other words you cannot or do not want to explain it.
Also a question -are you planning on moving to Dubai? That is a pretty darn free economy. Certainly freer than anywhere in the US.
I can and am fully willing to explain it. And I have to many libs who have made the same argument that blue “states” pay more in taxes than they get back.
“States” do not pay income taxes. Individual earners do. And it can easily be shown that the most productive, and therefore highest taxed individuals are conservative, regardless of the “color” of state they live in. This is where the money from “blue” states is coming from - conservative earners.
You aren’t sincerely trying to make the claim that liberal voters make up the majority of the income tax base in even “blue” states, are you?
Very, very few major military bases (I can just think of Minot and Wright-Pat off the top of my head) are in the north. Billions and billions of federal dollars go to all the many air, naval, and army bases in the south. Most of our military budget goes to the Southern US.
You have to admit that most of the dysfunctional major cities, which receive enormous amounts of federal funding, are in the blue states. (Naturally that statement does not apply to NO and Miami.)
I copied , pasted and e mailed this to every one I know. Great idea
I think this is an idea that should be worked toward. Conservatives should form working groups, especially in the South and othe blue states, to develop ideas and public support for an amicable divorce. The Old South (CSA) plus maybe Kentucky, Tennessee, W. Virginia, OK, Alaska, and the Midwestern Blue States, would make up the new CSA. And this time there would not be the distraction of slavery which was so detrimental to the original CSA’s efforts.
The groups should work out strategies and tactics to bring this about, plus work with state legislatures and develop public relations plans showing how the split would be beneficial both to the members of the new CSA and the remaining Federal states of the old US.
And how about Sarah Palin for the first President of the new CSA? This is an idea that could really go somewhere.
Okay show me.
But please show me that these "conservatives" also believe in conservative principles and don't just call themselves conservatives, but when asked about policy slip toward the center.
Of course I could also point out that you contradicted yourself by saying that liberal states have the largest number of highly productive people. Can you square that with your statement that conservatives move to places that offer the greatest economic freedom?
I readily admit this. But you would also then have to admit that those cities contain some of the wealthiest Americans who pay most of the taxes.
Here’s the voting results from 2004, I’m sure you can either verify or refute that the stats from 2008 were in variance. These results show that the productive class votes conservative, with the most productive voting almost 2 to 1 conservative. I’d be interested in what your point, was, anyway, in attempting to deny this data...
Under $15,000 (8%) Bush:36% Kerry:63%
$15-30,000 (15%) Bush:42% Kerry:57%
$30-50,000 (22%) Bush:49% Kerry:50%
$50-75,000 (23%) Bush:56% Kerry:43%
$75-100,000 (14%) Bush:55% Kerry:45%
$100-150,000 (11%) Bush:57% Kerry:42%
$150-200,000 (4%) Bush:58% Kerry:42%
$200,000 or More (3%) Bush:63% Kerry:35%
Less Than $50,000 (45%) Bush: 44% Kerry: 55%
$50,000 or More (55%) Bush: 56% Kerry: 43%
Less Than $100,000 (82%) Bush: 49% Kerry: 50%
$100,000 or More (18%) Bush: 58% Kerry: 41%
Didn't say this. I said that those who ARE productive are conservatives.
“Conservatives should form working groups, especially in the South and other blue (red) states, to develop ideas and public support for an amicable divorce.”
