Obama says his signature "Making Work Pay" tax cut will affect 95 percent of working families. This is the plan to order employers to reduce the amount of withholding from a employees pay. On average, an employee would see an extra 13 bucks a week in his paycheck.
But this is not a "tax cut", it's merely a reduction in withholding. The Fedreal Income tax rates remain the same. When the employee goes to file his/her Income Tax Return his tax on earnings will not change. With a lower amount of withholding accumulated the employee will be faced with a higher amount owed. Roughly the same amount as the total reduction in withholding. So where's the tax cut?
This is Obamanomics and when all the little OBamabots figure it out in April 2010, I wonder if they'll still get that tingle up their leg for The One.
