[President] George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. During the first six years, the economy was fine except for enduring the worst terrorist attack in U.S. History. The government had to step in and help the airlines and taxpayers gave millions to survivors in the twin towers.
It wasn’t until about a year ago that:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon; [iirc it was at 1.42 when the rats took control in January 2007]
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high — 14,000 +
5) Americans were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas, and living large!...
But Americans wanted ‘CHANGE’!
So, what did they do? In 2006, they voted in a Democratic Congress & yep—we got ‘CHANGE’ all right.
PAY ATTENTION TO THIS PEOPLE! THIS IS WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST YEAR:
1) Consumer confidence has plummeted;
2) Gasoline is now approximately $4 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS & prices still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) As I write this, THE DOW is probing another low (11,100); $2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM OUR STOCKS, BONDS, & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!
AND IF THAT ISN’T ENOUGH...
Speaker Of The House, Nancy Pelosi, & Senate Majority leader, Harry Reed (both democrats), will not allow a vote on more oil exploration in the USA.
YEP...IN 2006, AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE!.....AND WE SURE GOT IT!!!...
NOW OBAMA, the DEM’S CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT, CLAIMS THAT HE’S GONNA REALLY GIVE US CHANGE!!....
JUST HOW MUCH MORE DEMOCRATIC ‘CHANGE’ DO YOU THINK YOU CAN STAND???...

As you can see above, 6 months ago, or even better - two years ago, there was confidence in our government.
So, while you are correct in your statement; we can see that the root cause...an ever growing, overbearing & corrupt Government -- it does nothing to support Carpentonto's claim that the kamikaze dive the market has taken has nothing to do with who is at the helm of the ever growing, overbearing and corrupt gooberment. To claim, or even insinuate it has nothing to do with the Kenyan usurper in the WH is ludicrous and I for one will not tolerate it.
To go from a record high of 14,164.53 on 10-9-07 to 7,105.94 on 2-24-09, just 17.5 months, and not attributing it to the new “leader” is burying your head in the sand. As has been pointed out many times, every time he opens his mouth the market takes another dive. Even the former K’Toon told him to shut up!

I agree with you that Obama has managed to damage the economy seriously by a combination of arrogance and incompetence and I’m starting to see that he must be stopped. I was just saying that on occasion a NooBee deserves a 2nd look before attacking and that after I checked on this one, he/she do not appear to be Obot intruders and needed a bit of consideration.....just saying.
