So are you going to craft the proposal to the Chinese government that they stop financing the US so that we can bring down an oppressive central government (that’s a pussycat next to theirs, by the way) and restore states’ rights? I’d really like to see how you show them that such is in their interest.

No sir, WE have to straighten out our own nation. I don’t plan it, advocate it or advise it to others, but it isn’t too difficult to foresee that there may be some “occasional” violations of the law (the law, but not the Constitution) along the way in fighting the government’s plans. I think that it’d be easy to justify on a moral level, though that must always be balanced against some of the potential practical consequences of being found out.

The best thing to happen would be to have an awakening of the American spirit. That requires each of us here on FR, and many millions of like-minded individuals, to educate our fellow citizens - including and especially the disproportionately shiite-for-brains people who work on Capitol Hill. Its a long and difficult process, but it must be tried first. But that may not work...and then we’re left with an irresistable force opposing an immovable rock. Such things rarely end with great happiness.

No, that's the wrong approach - as you know, they could give a sh!t about us and/or our government. Like all lenders, all they care about is getting their principal back. So what we have to do as a people is educate the Chinese that they are never going to get their money back!

Here's the crux of the issue - the Chinese are a closed society that has been demographically, culturally & politically static for over 2,000 years. They are operating under two alternative assumptions without considering a third:

Alt 1. The USA is comprised of the same people who exterminated its native population, won multiple wars of conquest around the globe, and absolutely decimated the NEXT two leading industrial nations during WWII while killing millions of their citizens:

"These people will restore a sustainable, productive economy and eventually pay us back."

Alt 2. The USA has reached a tipping point where the unproductive looter class now comprise the body politic. They are a spent force and will lay prostrate before another country's military and economic might:

"We may well lose a portion of our principal balance (Ts), but we will end up owning what productive capacity remains."

Alt 3. The reset. The Empire Strikes Back. Call it what you may, but nothing lasts forever - including the US. The Chinese & Japanese have no experience with highly dynamic & fluid Western societies. Up until WWII, did you know there had been a major (and by major, I mean equivalent to WWII in terms of resources, manpower, etc) European conflict every 2 generations? (1914, 1870, 1815, 1762, etc, ...)

We are descendants of warlike tribes whose only constant experience was war. All technology was driven by the need for both offense (conquest) and defense (self-preservation). It's why we originally busted their chops from half-way around the globe back in the days of sail.

They aren't thinking about option #3.
