They really are trying to provoke a confrontation and use it to destroy the Constitution so they can do what they want, when they want, and get we serfs to pay for it. Either that, or make us criminals and so they can send us to jail when they want.
I have said it before and I will say it again, they are trying to get us, that is patriots, to fire the first shot whereby they can then justify martial law, confiscation of property, especially firearms and precious metals, and confiscation of our (few) remaining liberties.

AWB1 was, on the whole, just cosmetic. There was no need to revolt over absence of flash suppressors and folding stocks.
This time, the only realistic restriction will be on detachable magazines of indefinite size on semiauto guns. We will be polite and take this to the Supreme Court - who better know what “shall not be infringed” means.
It’s striking that Holder’s verbiage betrays gross ignorance of the subject. “Cop killer bullets”? he doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about - and that’s really bad for an attorney general.

Iraninan nuke test, another 9-11 or bigger attack, something to really focus the attention. I don’t know what, but something. And Obama will utterly fail.

Obama will seek these 4 elements in a gun bill
1. An expanded HR 45, gun owner licensing. All gun owners will have to have these licenses, even owners of facilimie weapons (AKA Airsoft and BB). Licenses will only be granted if the records of the applicant are clean (This includes misdemeanors from decades ago). Licensees will be required to hold $1 million in liability insurance. Possession of otherwise permitted weapons (See #3) without license is a felony.
2. Ammunition accountability... All ammo will be required to be microstamped and will be taxed $1/round. All non stamped ammo will be required to be turned in or thrown away. Possession of non-marked ammo is a felony. This part of the act also bans “Cop Killer” bullets.
3. Expanded “Assault Weapons” ban— This includes most all semiauto rifles, anything that can be “Bump Fired”, Semiauto handguns, and Semi-auto shotguns. It also includes pump-action shotguns and “Sniper Rifles” AKA your deer rifle. The AWB will also require people with “Prebans” to register their guns as Machine Guns, and that the tax stamp will go up to $10,000 per weapon, or turn it in without compensation...
4. Expansion of the Lautenbach amendment: Removes “Domestic Violence” as disqualifier to gun ownership, inserts any misdemeanor as disqualifer... Anyone with a misdemeanor on their record will be prohibited from owning a firearm. This includes DUI and traffic offenses, and offenses decades ago.
There you have it in a nutshell...

Is this merely speculation, or are there factual grounds for it? I can see where the Obama Administration would have the arrogance to propose such things, but they have to KNOW what these kinds of gun grab regulations and Constitutional usurpations this would percipitate. If only for the sake of political survival and expedience, I can’t imagine they would try this... At least not all at once.
On a positive note, firearms and ammunition sales are the one area of the economy that is booming (no pun intended). So what “Stimulus Package” do you suppose is driving that? (/s)

Hmmm... This brings about another question — what are the stock symbols for the various firearms companies? Are they publicly traded? What have their performance returns looked like vs. the rest of the [rather pathetic] market in recent months? How much is the minimum investment..? Are there any stock mutual funds built around firearms — or for that matter survival gear and military surplus!?!
I’m thinking about a whole new investment strategy here. I might as well invest in an industry that I will be spending money on for the foreseeable future....
