My mother had a miserable time when she was a kid. They had cats in the house, and she was allergic to cat dander.

In those days, they just didn't know that cats were the problem.

Maybe in your case they didn't know that smoking was the problem?

In my hometown (and I think its statewide in the DPRNJ), there is an ordinance that if minors drink booze on your property you can be charged criminally.

Now, if I see your child being hurt in public I will intervene either physically or legally if the situation warrants.
