Is Barack Obama the "promised warrior" coming to help the Hidden Imam of Shiite Muslims conquer the world? The question has made the rounds in Iran since last month, when a pro-government Web site published a Hadith (or tradition) from a Shiite text of the 17th century.

According to the tradition, Imam Ali Ibn Abi-Talib (the prophet’s cousin and son-in-law) prophesied that at the End of Times and just before the return of the Mahdi, the Ultimate Saviour, a “tall black man will assume the reins of government in the West.” Commanding “the strongest army on earth,” the new ruler in the West will carry “a clear sign” from the third imam, whose name was Hussein Ibn Ali. The tradition concludes: “Shiites should have no doubt that he is with us.”

President Ahmadinejad has taught Americans a lesson,” says Hassan Abbasi, a “strategic adviser” to the Iranian president. “This is why they are now choosing someone who understands Iran’s power.” The Iranian leader’s entourage also point out that Obama copied his campaign slogan “Yes, We Can” from Ahmadinejad’s “We Can,” used four years ago.

A number of Khomeinist officials have indicated their preference for Obama over McCain, who is regarded as an “enemy of Islam.” A Foreign Ministry spokesman says Iran does not wish to dictate the choice of the Americans but finds Obama “a better choice for everyone.” Ali Larijani, Speaker of the Islamic Majlis, Iran’s ersatz parliament, has gone further by saying the Islamic Republic “prefers to see Barack Obama in the White House” next year.

And all this time I thought he copied it from La Raza (Si,se puedo.)

Do you win a prize if you find the Hidden Imam? Do you have to look only in specially marked boxes of certain cereals? Or is it like a Wahabi Where’s Waldo?

And so, I guess that they also believe he came out of that well in Iran? That explains why he can't bring forth a birth certificate and why the mindless bow before him with such ecstacy ....

If he did... then this quick movie is really apropo...

It seems to go back to the United Farm Workers. Here’s the Wikipedia entry (kind of funny):

“Yes We Can” is a collage-style music video inspired by US President Barack Obama’s popularization of the slogan “Yes we can.” During the 2008 US presidential campaign following the New Hampshire Democratic Primary, then-Senator (now President) Barack Obama, used the English translation of the United Farm Workers slogan “Sí, se puede” (Spanish for “Yes, it can be done”[1]) in his speech. The slogan dates back to 1972 when Cesar Chavez and the UFW’s co-founder, Dolores Huerta, came up with the slogan during Chavez’s 24 day fast in Phoenix. Arizona.[1]

The song was released on February 2, 2008, by the Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am on Dipdive.com and also on YouTube.com under the username ‘WeCan08’.[1] It was honored with the first-ever Emmy Award for Best New Approaches in Daytime Entertainment.[2] The term “Yes We Can!” became a secondary slogan for Obama’s campaign.

Either he's a liar or stupid or a Destroyer. It's quickly boiling down to some pretty simple choices, anti-choices that people often encounter when they read the Gospel of John, for example, for the very first time. It boils down to a yes or no kind of thing.

That being said, I don't speculate on whether he's the False Prophet, or whether he's the Man of Sin, but I don't think his long-term "vision-thing" is invisible. We can imply where's he thinks he is "taking America," but he really hasn't spelled out much of bread and butter vision of what our national destiny is, has he?
