Anybody want some top-secret seagoing vessels? The Navy has a pair it doesn't need anymore. It has been trying to give them away since 2006, and they're headed for the scrap yard if somebody doesn't speak up soon.
One is called Sea Shadow. It's big, black and looks like a cross between a Stealth fighter and a Batmobile. It was made to escape detection on the open sea. The other is known as the Hughes (as in Howard Hughes) Mining Barge. It looks like a floating field house, with an arching roof and a door that is 76 feet wide and 72 feet high. Sea Shadow berths inside the barge, which keeps it safely hidden from spy satellites.

I used to teach out of a marina in Redwood Creek back when the Shadow (a.k.a. Sister Mary Vader’s coif) was moored there. The joke for newbie students was that the Hughes was the screen backdrop for the country’s only sail-in movie theater...
They may want to consider placing an ad in the back of a comic book. It works great selling this little Navy Surplus product of the Cold War

It’ll be the most expensive free thing you ever got. If the Navy lets you have it, it’ll come with strings. They’ll be expensive strings, like it has to be a museum of the kind they’re envisioning, and you have to take a very ugly submersible barge with it. Then you have to keep them maintained.
The Navy also has a ship with an invisibility cloak but they can’t find it.
If you haven’t seen it let’em know.
