While I agree that it’s far too early to nominate a candidate for ‘12, there are a couple thing that need to be addressed.

“I have yet to have seen a ring on her single-parent daughter’s hand”
-I could not care less if Bristol Palin ever gets married. That’s her business.

“She bombed on during Gibson’s interview”
-Gibson misquoted her words. Also Gibson proved HIS ignorance about stem cell research when he failed to recognize that Palin was referring to pluripotent stem cells when she was talking about skin cells, which IS the most promising area of stem cell research. Contrary to Gibson, the cutting edge researchers in this area are moving away from embryonic stem cell research.

I read up on this stuff and from what I've read, most of the experiments with embryonic stem cells have been disastrous. Creating tumors only. I can't help thinking, well, then, let the Dems use embryonic stem cells, it serves them right.

I hate to break it to you, but Gibson wasn't on trial, Palin was.

As to Bristol Palin, it strikes at the core of Conservative values. Un-wed mothers are the single greatest social problem America faces.

Ann Coulter is correct when she states that being the child of an unwed mother is the single most accurate predictor of criminal behavior, incarceration, drug use, illegitimacy, and permanent welfare dependency. If Bristol isn't going to get married, that child would be far better off being adopted by a married couple.

A parent cannot always prevent their child from making a mistake...that is true...but once that mistake is made, they have an obligation to make certain that the mistake their child made isn't compounded by further bad decisions.

Bristol had no business appearing on television in an interview...bad decision. That child needs both a father and a mother...so far, bad decision. Allowing Bristol to raise that child rather than giving it up for adoption...bad decision...especially for the child.

Either you are a Conservative and hold Conservative values, or you aren't. Conservatives believe that un-wed mothers are an unfortunate blight on our society and the victims of that blight are the very babies we seek to protect from abortionists. The decision to have a baby is accompanied by certain obligations, the single most important of which is making decisions that are best for the baby, not the parent.
"I could not care less if Bristol Palin ever gets married. That’s her business."
It is not "her business" if she raises that child without a father...it is the child's business. It is selfish Liberal twaddle to assert that Bristol is noble and valiant for raising the child by herself...the child is the victim.

Of Course Bristol is lucky enough to be the child of parents with some degree of financial means and so her child will more likely escape these negative consequences but there is no guarantee and it serves as a very negative example for other teens out there whose parents aren't as well equipped to deal with an un-wed daughter/parent.
