Everyone has to remember, the response speaker is at a distinct disadvantage. He’s not speaking to an auditorium with repeated applause and reactions from a crowd. It’s strictly informational rather than dramatic.

Just gotta keep it in perspective. If Jindal were speaking to a responsive crowd, he would’ve sounded much more impressive.

I still get inspired when I see Reagan’s speeches w/o an audience. In fact, I find inspiration in just reading principled conservative views. Jindal reminds me of Daschle’s sitting on a phone book rebuttal. It was a bad choice. Haley Barbour, Sarah, Duncan Hunter Jr., or the janitor would have been better. And I LIKE Jindal. If I didn’t, my review would be harsher.

It doesn’t have to be that way. He could have given the speech from a podium in front of an audience.
