In 1968 I was ready to hang up my sneakers and get down to doing some fishin our local ricers with my Chillin so I traded in the legendary 1965 GTO I had drag raced for 3 seasons on a Black 1968 Chebbie Step Side Pick Up. In 1970 my Dairy farming buddy brought by a 70 SS 454 Chevelle with the LS6 with Ram Air and said I want you (Me) to trick it out and go drag racin with it.

In our next chapter I will elaborate on the brutal power of that MoFo...

In 1970 my buddy bought a used 1969 'Cuda.

340, 6-pack, factory paint, zebra scheme - dark green / black. That thing looked wicked fast, parked.

We determined that there was an issue with the 3 duce setup, take it to the dealer for repair.

I was at the dealer (parts delivery job) when he pulled in....nose just in the door....got everybody's attention...a beast has arrived!

After all the crap we had been through, oh my - the third two barrel has not opened up "for some time".......

That beast had a top end of 120 mph......

But it would get to 120 mph in a flash.

Had to appear in court as a witness for a speeding ticket the buddy got....the Judge said, "there is no car that can be that fast!"....ummm, "Your Honor....you bet your ass there is....ever had a ride in a 340 / 'Cuda?"

The Judge dismissed the case because he refused to believe that a car could do as charged.....0 - mack 1 in 3 blocks....the cop was pissed...we were laughing....
