HMMMM, if the unemployment rate includes the illegal aliens, wouldn’t simply deporting them drop the unemployment rate immediately. And, if the rate does not include them, wouldn’t deporting them help the re-employment rate of American workers. Or have I missed something?

One thing I believe you’re missing is that the illegals are working for illegal wages - that’s why they’re here. It’s against the law for employers to hire citizens under the same conditions. So if Juan from Guatemala is working on a lawn-service crew and gets deported, his employer is not going to be looking to replace him (at three times the wages, plus benefits) with a citizen.
