Yeah, the evos claiming to be conservatives, all the while proceeding with their anti-God agenda by pushing God out of public life and giving their approval to groups like the NEA and ACLU in their anti-Christian efforts, IS a real stain on conservatism.

So let me understand you metmom; any person who thinks that the TOE is scientifically sound (or who doesn’t believe in a 6,000 year old earth, that dinos didn’t live with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, that the Grand Canyon wasn’t formed in a couple of days by the receding waters of The Flood and a whole host of other ridiculous and unscientifically supported creationist claims), must in turn, in your esteemed opinion; can’t be a conservative, must be lying about their political convictions, must be anti-god, must secretly support the NEA and the ACLU, can’t be a “real” Christian? We are all just closet Satanists who perform abortions in our spare time and want global Communism.

Is that your point metmom?

I’ve got news for you. If you so narrowly define Conservatism in those terms, you will alienate a great many Conservatives, many of whom are also Christians BTW. You marginalize the greater cause of the Founders of our Nation, those brilliant men who put aside their religious differences to found a Nation, a Republic, based on not only Christian principles but also on logic and the rule of law.

The day the GOP adopts YEC as part of its platform will be the day, after more than 20 years of voting Republican, I change my party affiliation.

The whole crevo-evo argument around here is getting way past being silly and marginally entertaining and has now become rather tiresome and counter productive.

While the WH and Congress are controlled by actual Socialists, you and others waste our time arguing nonsense.

No, but don't let that get in the way of your building a strawman because you can't debate the real issues.

==The day the GOP adopts YEC as part of its platform

Who said anything about the GOP adopting a YEC platform? What they should adopt is a platform that calls for free market competition between creation, evolution, and intelligent design in which they are forced to stand on their own two feet, with no government support whatsoever. But the Evos won’t have that because they know that if the unconstitutional establishment of religion support of the government and the courts ever got knocked out from underneath the Temple of Darwinistic Materialism it would instantly collapse like a house of cards. But no matter, not even the government or the courts can save the HMS Beagle. It was doomed to break up on the rocks of scientific falsification the moment it set sail against God’s creation.

Why then, are you wasting your time arguing with such folks? Why aren’t you out there dealing with the real threats posed by actual Socialists?

(Where do you go to do that?)

It's not nonsense to oppose the push for atheism that is going on in the public schools today. The NEA and ACLU have the weapon of choice in the ToE and in the name of science are using it to remove any trace of Christianity that public school kids may be exposed to and it's being done with the full backing of the evos on this forum.

Almost without exception, they applaud any efforts to keep anything but evolution out of the public schools and support the reasoning behind it, establishment clause and all.

If scientists don't like the opposition to the ToE, then they need to demand that it not be used as a tool with which to advance atheism and justify government control of the education system.

Opposing that is fighting socialism.

Scientists and evos also ought to remember that atheistic regimes like the ones in the 20th century, were no friends to scientific advancement. Supporting the ACLU's anti-Christian agenda will come back and bite them some day. Ask those who lived under Stalin and Pol Pot.

Sigh,.... Have you been taking lessons from cm?

There are far more pressing issues for the GOP to take a stand on than adopting the YEC position as part of it's platform. Whatever makes you think that that is in the works anyway that you should get so worked up about it?

For all the issues that faced us in this last election, the ONLY area I heard any controversy about that from was the evos in their hysterical, sky-is-falling paranoia.
