The premise was that an intermediate form between a full flipper and a full leg would be useless. No, not useless. Just not adequate to do the perform the necessary functions as needed to insure the best chances for survival in either environment.

Maybe you think you know better than the seals, but they seem to be surviving just fine with an “inadequate” front limb.
