I find this sidebar on the relevance of ridge detail on the hands and feet of apes and man to be quite amusing.

After all, if one were to break a man and an ape down to their constituent parts he would soon observe that both consist of the same quantum particles and fields that make up rocks and galaxies. And yet that would tell the investigator little about either man or ape, because along the way of breaking them down - both would move from being alive to being dead. And of course neither rock nor galaxy is alive.

Or to put it another way, along the way of breaking the man and ape down, something was removed which was not physical at all.

So whether one looks at quantum field theory and gasps that all physical things whether alive or dead have it in common – or whether one looks at physical structures and gasps that all physical things whether alive or dead have geometry in common – or whether one looks at living man and ape and gasps that they both have ridge detail on their feet and hands – the truly amazing part is that life is not physical at all. The rest is just coincidence among things which evoke a physical description.

As Einstein once said "Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous."

Truth is hidden in plain view but without "ears to hear" and "eyes to see" man cannot perceive it.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

Where [is] the wise? where [is] the scribe? where [is] the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. - I Corinthians 1:18-25

It's not "about" the physical realm.

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life. – John 6:63

To God be the glory, not man, never man.

...the truly amazing part is that life is not physical at all. The rest is just coincidence among things which evoke a physical description.... As Einstein once said "Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous."

Anatole France had something similar to say WRT "chance": "Chance is the pseudonym of God when he didn't want to sign."

Truly it is amazing that "life is not physical at all." It is a participation in Being that has a physical basis in this world, but it is not reducible to the chemistry or mechanics of that physical basis; i.e., it is not reducible to the physical laws. It is something "more." Being itself is not "physical" — for God, the I Am That Am (Being itself, in itself and as creative cause) is neither "physical" nor bound by any spatiotemporal constraint.

Or so it seems to me. Again referring back to the statements of the astronomer George V. Coyne, S.J., from a recent thread, creation is not a one-time start-up event "in the beginning," but a continuous process. It's interesting to note that it was Plato's view also that living entities exist by virtue of their participation in Being. Being is the first and final cause, the unchanging, everlasting, eternal "ground" of their existence, the constant cause of their livingness, from which they arise into physically-incarnated life, and into which they return at death.

Not for nothing do Christians call the I Am That Am "Our Father": There is no Life without Him.

Just some thoughts, FWIW. Thank you so very much for your insightful essay/post, dearest sister in Christ!

It's not "about" the physical realm.

Science and scientists will never be able to touch the essence of what makes a man a man and sets him apart from animals within the parameters of that men have currently set for science.

The spirit of a man is in no way testable or observable nor can be reduced to a lab experiment.

No evo on FR has as of yet answered the question of what life is and what is the inherent difference between a body, living one minute and dead the next.

For all the smug intellectual superiority that many on the evo side of the debate display towards those who haven't been brainwashed educated into believing that the ToE can explain how life arose on this planet, they cannot ever begin to explain what life really is in the first place.

Evolution, the theory, is called more properly “The Origin of Species.” That was Darwin’s title.

Evolution requires change over a period of time. Time then, by deductive reasoning must also have a beginning.

The flaw in the evolutionist logic is that life did not come from the earth, because the earth came from somewhere else as well.

Life came from somewhere else...

The notion that children need to be indoctrinated and badgered into thinking a certain way is the insecurity of adults, a universal dissatisfaction with mortality reaching out for an eternal ideal. Whether this is done by atheists or by the religious, it is exactly the same.

Man did not come from apes... Man supposedly came from a common ancestor - the “missing link” Louis Leaky searched Olduvai Gorge 30 years in vain for...

But the singularity of all life is the DNA molecule according to modern science. All living things have it. With DNA being like the singularity of the “big bang” theory, evolutionists make the inadvertent admission life is some sort of immaculate conception. (pun intended)
