I take the approach that the PUMA support for McCain may not have been as strong as it might have appeared in late August but also that PUMA support may have slid after the financial meltdown and McCain’s feeble attempt to look like he knew what he was doing during the meltdown.

Like the Reagan Democrats, some PUMA’s may have returned to their roots out of economic considerations. This has nothing to do with McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin.

Watching Fred debate Obama would've been high comedy.

I would've loved seeing the media spin the messiah getting his head handed to him.

McCain destroyed the campaign. Palin kept him from being thoroughly embarrassed on election night. It was only as “close” as it was because of her.
