In summer of last year, the number was 280,000,000. Now, I imagine the number of privately owned firearms to be half a billion. Only 150 million would have been accurate years ago.

Fine, wastedyears, I accept your statistics as they further reinforce my belief we, as a people, are adequately armed to deal will marauding gangs, foreign mercenaries, etc.

You're conjecturing 220,000,000 firearms in 6 or 8 months.

I'd be surprised if the combined arms-manufacturing capacity of the entire world could produce 220,000,000 firearms in less than a year.

A third-of-a-billion, maybe, but a half-billion? Probably not.
