Dark Dark Dark (Maureen Dowd's getting her eyes opened)
New York Times ^ | Feb 21, 2009 | Maureen Dowd

Posted on 02/22/2009 4:40:59 AM PST by Edward Watson

Barack Obama’s grandmother told him to smile more. Bill Clinton tells the new president to strut more.

As the country takes a bullet train to bankruptcy, the last Democratic president urged the current one to “embody” that old American spunk. That spirit of — as they sing in “Oklahoma” — “We know we belong to the land and the land we belong to is grand! A-YIP-I-O-EE-AY!”

“It’s worth reminding the American people that for more than 230 years everyone who bet against America lost money,” Clinton told Chris Cuomo on “Good Morning America.” “I just want him to embody that and to share that.”

It’s rich. The Man from Hope whose Missus castigated Candidate Obama for raising “false hopes” is now criticizing President Obama for not peddling more gauzy hope.

I find Maureen very interesting, and she seems to have her own mind about the mess that's going on instead of blindly worshiping at the Obama altar.

Obama is as humorless as Oliver Cromwell as as painful as the boils on Karl Marx’ ass.

They all knew at the time, I can't understand them acting all surprised now, unless they didn't bother to realize that the straw they were lighting with that match was under THEIR feet too. LOL

Libs are stupid, they won't survive this, many of them will shut up and sink back intot he mud where they came from. These people were never politically active to the point where they have been recently and that was for a reason. They got active, and look at the mess.

Staff cuts of 30% or more are coming to the NY Times in May. It’s going to be bloody and given Maureen’s salary, will she be a survivor of the spring massacre?

Won’t someone please post some very sexy photos of Maureens rival. You know the one that took mikey douglass from this shrew.
Seems any photo of Mrs. Douglass is better than Ms. Dowds best photo.

I love the comment on Holder’s bravery.

And I am glad that finally Clinton’s inability to shut up is paying off.

I have to say I,m shocked at hearing this from Maureen Dowd . It is just another example of the loony press that through it's incompetence allowed this rookie nobody senator to get elected to the most powerful office in the world is beginning to get buyers remorse. Him and the idiot henchmen around him are beginning to show their true colors and even some of the adoring press whores are getting worried. It's not a foregone conclusion yet, but the possibility is getting pretty strong that 2010 and 2012 could get really ugly for the dummies.

Isn’t her title a subtle hate crime? Shouldn’t she be investigated for her racist insinuations?

> In the middle of all the Heimlich maneuvers required now — for the economy, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, health care, the environment and education — we don’t need a Jackson/Sharpton-style lecture on race. Barack Obama’s election was supposed to get us past that.

Catwoman has spoken.

Obama had better watch out: the MSM will be turning on him real soon. There is money to be made in reporting Bad News, and Obama has the Bad News market cornered right now...

Staff cuts of 30% or more are coming to the NY Times in May.

And then bankruptcy within the next 12-18 months, I'm thinking.

I know her type well because of my background. She is from a middle class non-intellectual background, but is hobnobbing with the rich, powerful and intellectual now and thinks that is important. Unmarried, no children, which is a lucky thing for the man and children that could have been. Needy as an actress. Bright and charming but shallow when it comes to historical, religious, or economic matters. Great dinner guest, charming weekend companion, but does not wear well long term, useful for progaganda but useless in the world of ideas.
