What about the budget for the fiscal year that began last October. Congress still hasn't done anything but a "continuing resolution" that expires March 6, 2009. They still have to pass last years budget and last years appropriations.

This will be in the form of an "Omnibus spending bill" that will be voted on this week. They will vote on it, but no Republican has seen it yet, and it's not available on the Internet for the people (like us) to examine. This will be another thousand page plus, trillion dollar spending package that nobody will be allowed to read before they vote. And anyone voting against it will be painted as voting to shut the government down after March 6.

Congress didn't do their job last year because they didn't want to deal with Bush. They wanted to spend more, and by kicking things past January 20, they knew they had someone other than Bush. Either Mr. Bipartisan McCain who wouldn't have stood up to them, or Obama the big time spender.

And the Party Propaganda Ministry (formerly called the media) ignores the fact that Congress didn't do their job last year, and will now rush the entire fiscal year 2009 appropriations through as an "emergency" without even letting anyone read the package before the vote.
