"...sending troops to take over the town and search door-to-door for a suspected weapons dealer."

The officers in charge of that exercise are knuckleheads, probably with the mental squishiness of Al Gore. I did training exercises in a small US town a few times, but we trained to secure the residents and infrastructure. We didn't practice aggression against them. The residents enjoyed watching us and regarded us as friendlies, and that was during the Clinton years.

If the story isn't exaggerated or omitting facts (WND, you know), the people in charge of that birdbrained idea are worse than knuckleheads.

From the UCMJ:

"894. ARTICLE 94. MUTINY OR SEDITION

(a) Any person subject to this chapter who--
[...]
(2) with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of lawful civil authority, creates, in concert with any other person, revolt, violence, or disturbance against that authority is guilty of sedition;...
"

And there's pertinent law from our Constitution and US Code.

More and more I think it was “floated” by some officers in cahoots with the O admin. Just testing the citizen response you know.
