DES MOINES, Iowa – Following publicized reports that the Army National Guard was planning a military training exercise on the streets of a rural Iowa town, the commanding officers have called off the mock "invasion."
The Guard had planned a four-day urban military operation in tiny Arcadia, Iowa, population 443, sending troops to take over the town and search door-to-door for a suspected weapons dealer.
The exercise was designed as a mock scenario to give soldiers the skills needed for deployment in an urban environment, and military officials stressed that only households that consented to be part of the drill would be searched.
"It will be important for us to gain the trust and confidence of the residents of Arcadia," Sgt. Mike Kots, readiness NCO for Alpha Company, told Carroll's Daily Times Herald. "We will need to identify individuals that are willing to assist us in training by allowing us to search their homes and vehicles and to participate in role-playing.
"We really want to get as much information out there as possible," Kots continued, "because this operation could be pretty intrusive to the people of Arcadia."
Military spokesman Lt. Col. Greg Hapgood, however, told WND that the operation has now been "scaled back" and no longer involves an "invasion" of Arcadia.

The exercise was designed as a mock scenario to give soldiers the skills needed for deployment in an urban environment, condition citizens to believe that it is OK for the military conduct operations against United States citizens and military officials stressed that only households that consented to be part of the drill would be searched.

A sad day for international peacekeeping
Kim Bigley, Lynne Marie Williams and Gary Weston were part of a 24-member convoy of officers preparing to leave the compound after their first day of training. The group of Americans had arrived in Kosovo on 7 April and had been deployed to Mitrovica just days before the incident. They were completing their first day of induction training when the attack occurred. The Jordanian officer just started shooting at us, a witness to the incident stated. We had no time to react. The American officers, two officers from the Turkish contingent and one Austrian were in a convoy of three vehicles inside the detention centre. The suspect allegedly opened fire at two vehicles near the closed gate of the compound. We were trapped. We couldnt get out [of the detention center], one of the officers involved said.
John Eric Branchizio, John Martin Linde, Jr. Mark T. Parson
Three American diplomatic personnel - John Eric Branchizio, 37, of Texas, John Martin Linde, Jr., 30, of Missouri, and Mark T. Parson, 31, of New York, were killed and one was wounded at the Beit Hanoun junction in the Gaza Strip when a massive bomb demolished an armor-plated jeep in a convoy carrying U.S. diplomats.
Keep doing what you do bro.
Until I'm booted or have to drop my ISP due to financial constraints.
Got any SE Texas contacts for some work my way? The job I was on got scaled way back.

Strange...it's almost like there was some mysterious 8-year lapse in internal military operations within the US.
Very good point!...

Are you confusing this with New Orleans, Louisiana?
That was another town invaded by other mixed soldiers relishing their work just too much.

Remember this? No problem back then using the military to violate our Constitutional rights. A minor point- but I believe that the operator in the picture is BORTAC, US Border Patrol Special Operations; thus, Federal law enforcement and not US military.

"Sorry...I do NOT view the citizen soldier as my enemy just because a liberal got into the whitehouse."
That's not an honest reply to my comments. I haven't viewed myself or those still serving as the "enemy," and Obama is no more of a thieving globalist than the rest.
We're living in a time when too many of our business, political and academic leaders see us--their own American neighbors--as the enemy, have already relocated most of the heavy manufacturing to anti-American nations and bring in hordes of third-worlders to starve us.
It's not a good time for a REMF unit Army exercise involving searching American civilians' homes for a "weapons dealer." My units never did such foolery. All training exercises were about protecting the population--not subduing it for packs of reigning, anti-American, bipartisan free traitors.
Besides, the US Army (including the National Guard) would never go completely through with disarming Americans because of the wishful thinking we've been seeing from so many citizens of the world, lately (re. hundreds of instigations of panic from the media about the firearms market, declarations from rich folks that they'll be the only ones to retain Second Amendment rights, and all of the other recent propaganda). Soldiers will not violate the constitutional rights of many of their own, just because Obama voters (the rich) want them to. Any attempt to orderr them to do so would surely backfire.

Why isnt 0bama/Administration trying to help LIFT the spirits and confidence of Americans in regard to the economy? It's so much easier to get people to shut up and let the "new masters" do what they will when they're scared and panicked.

White noted the difference in training for such warfare today compared to a decade ago, saying the Department of Defense (news - web sites) now has excellent facilities for training troops in urban fighting on a number of bases - not just at its major training centers. Exactly, I used to work some of these facilities while I was in... they are called MOUT Cities or Military Operations Urban Terrain, Basically small cities within military bases designed for "Urban" Combat Training... and they have quite a few around the country.
Geez, I was killed so many times, I wonder how I'm still here...;-)

None of us Iowa freepers are particularly happy about it. We know it’s urban warfare training for overseas but we also know it could be used here for gun confiscation. Being we have a radical left Governor it makes people uneasy.

That's what I figured. ...lived right smack through the middle of a really nasty hurricane (Celia). No neighborhoods were disarmed, because there weren't any really bad neighborhoods there. But the policy afterward was that of simply shooting looters. So within a day or two, there was no looting. And BTW, the National Guard maintained order (guarding some commercial areas with loaded weapons) and handed out dry ice, water, food and the like. ...doesn't seem so long ago.
