Speaking this past Friday at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) annual meeting, former Vice President Al Gore urged scientists to get involved politically to push the anthropogenic global warming (AGW) theory. Touting the need for swift and immediate action to avert what he believes is a climate crisis, Gore urged scientists to use what he feels is a changing political environment to push the agenda of those that believe man is on the brink of destruction.
During his 50 minute presentation, the self-appointed head of the AGW movement spoke to a rapt audience describing a scary picture of Earths future. Ice caps melting, droughts in many parts of the world, an extraordinary death of trees in our own American west. He pointed to many recent natural disasters as evidence of manmade climate change such as the floods in Cedar Rapids and wildfires in Greece and Australia.
The theme of his speech was that of the need to bring renewable energy technologies online immediately. Painting the coal industry as the villain, he told the audience the industry had invested $500 million to mislead the public on the ability of coal to be a clean fuel and power source.
In closing, the former vice president said:
"We have a full-blown political struggle to communicate the truth. This is a task for all of us. And those of you who have not been engaged in trying to communicate effectively in your communitiesto those who respect you and who understand that you have worked hard to obtain the knowledge and wisdom that you havethis is no time to sit back. This is an historic struggle.
"We as a species must make a decision. How absurd that soundsit sounds absurd because we've never made a decision as a species and it seems implausible to think that we could. But we've now reached a stage where continuing on our present course would threaten the entirety of human civilization.
"Many of the most distinguished members of your professions, in scientific fields, have been saying now, for a few years, that in their estimation, we could have around a decade within which to make major changes in our direction lest we lose the opportunity to retrieve a climate balance that is favorable for human life and human civilization...
"And the only way that's going to happen is if those of you who are in a position to exercise influence and communicate your understanding of what this is all about make a decision to get involved....
"I'm asking you for help. I believe in my heart that we do have the capacity to make this generation one of those generations that changes the course of humankind. The stakes have never been higher. We have the knowledge, we have the emerging technology, we have new leadership, we have cabinet members and science advisers and NOAA heads and policymakers in all of the important positions who are of you, who are your colleagues...
"If I could I would motivate you to leave this city after this meeting and start getting involved in politics. Keep your day job, but start getting involved in this historic debate. We need you."
He is beginning to sound desperate...me thinks the resistance to his hoax is starting to bother the nut.
“I vote for warming. Im sick of winter.”
Amen to that.
Just got another 3-4” of global warming, and we’ll get more tonight. It’s 17* here now. Give me some warm.
First journalism, now science. True science is supposed to be completely non-political. For Gore to propose politicizing science should have been an outrage to the AAAS. How far we have fallen in an age without standards. Gore knows as much about the scientific method as a dog knows about radio waves.
Watching Al eat is like watching buzzards chawing on a carcass of a dead raccoon, or Congressrats salivating on the largest spending bill in the history of mankind.
EXCELSIOR!!!
Al . . just die.
“We have a full-blown political struggle to communicate the truth.”
You’re talking, Al. Only problem is, how do we know if you’re communicating the truth?
Agreed.
A straitjacket and padded cell are in order for the former VP. My God, the man is insane.
This guy belongs in a padded room.
This gut is like a bad penny, it just won’t go away.
No she was not a seer or a prophet. She simply observed what had had happened in Russia and wrote about it. Yes, it can (AND IS) happen here.
Vice President Watermelon, doing his best to pitch propaganda for extending goobermint control into EVERY aspect of our lives.
The scumbag KNOWS he’s lying.
You’re correct of course about writing about what she saw in the Soviet Union. Pretty much anything as it relates to mans political future can be predicted by looking in the past.
Journalism, science, radio, education, banks, energy, healthcare, railroads then nationalized Kentucky Fried Chicken.
“The f*cker is insane.”
I couldn’t agree more.
This is not a rational human being.
This is much closer to a religious zealot on drugs.
What tees me off is I have to spend quality time with kids dispelling his huggy polar bear crap instead of advancing the kid’s awareness of the real world around them - thanks to the mindless drone teachers that feed brown stuff to them each day.
How can so many people be so retchingly stupid - unless $’s are involved?
This is exactly why the science is suspect.
I often wonder whether Algore is a.) the mastermind behind the Global Warming scheme and the associated carbon credits scam or b.) a simple dupe for whoever is the mastermind.
Invariably, upon deep consideration, I arrive at b.)
A full foot of snow has fallen on the ground outside my window since yesterday. It will be march in a little over a week.
