Look, Tex, we all would love to see conservatism rise from the ashes. I simply don’t see any way to convince the majority of The Sheep, who truly desire socialism, to buy into what the right has to offer - which is nothing less than hard work and discipline, something The Sheep will never have.
We can’t get agreement on what conservatism is - definitely not on this forum, where even Reagan himself is a RINO (he signed amnesty for illegals, and cut-and-run from Lebanon). The “big tent” is a lie because as conservatives, we are individuals who abhor working as a group. And that is how The Left wins - groupthink and unity always triumph.
So, what’s your definition of conservative? You said yourself in post #9 that only 100% conservative ratings would suffice. NO ONE ALIVE has that kind of rating. We can’t form a consensus on what we even are, let alone hold forth a leader whose example is clear for all to follow. That is why I am convinced that conservatism will not rise again in our lifetime.
There will be no Second Civil War, no Second Revolution, the military will not mutiny against The One (piss be upon him), and no Freeper will fire a shot in anger at another person. We are complacent. And we are beaten.
I am truly sorry to read your post Old Sarge. I truly am. The Left has worn you down and crushed you. That is you, not me. I believe that what the Founding Fathers built should not go quietly. Maybe you are right, I do tend to be something of a purist. I welcome getting shot down in flames standing up for I what I believe in. The alternative is to roll over and play dead like a trained dog. No Thanks.
The Sheeple, is their condition one of ignorance? or one of stupidity? If it is based on ignorance, that can be remedied. Stupidity cannot be fixed as you know.

Also I am willing to pull the trigger to defend my country against a homegrown evil. I once swore an oath before God to that effect. I am still so bound.
This will not be a quick process, far from it. It will take years, a great many of them. However, what chance have we if conservatives just give up and quit right here, right now?
I think the Sheep’s condition is neither ignorance, nor stupidity - it is Apathy. They want to be taken care of and provided for, and not have to work hard for themsleves. The rhetoric of the Left promises what they so want to hear; that’s one reason why the Left is successful.
