Official Confirms U.S. Using Pakistan Base to Launch Attacks
Fox News ^ | Feb 19, 2009 | Jennifer Griffin and Justin Fishel

The confirmation contradicts a stream of previous denials from officials and comes after the Times of London published a Google Earth image apparently showing three U.S. drones at the Shamsi airbase in Pakistan's southwestern province of Baluchistan as early as 2006.

These are not the drones you're looking for.

Well, we won’t be using it for much longer now that A-Q knows where to go and set off suicide murderers.

Thanks for posting the article.

As always, this type of thing is mostly ‘covert’ only to the American populace.

At this point (Senator Feinstein having let the cat out of the bag), the military had no choice but to tell the truth.

We signed an agreement on October 20, 2001 use the Shamsi and Dalbandin air bases in Balochistan. They have been in constant use by us since then, mainly as refueling and resupply bases for the Marines.

This has been well known for some time and reported on Global Security.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/facility/shamsi.htm

We cannot use Jacobobad or Pasni, other Paki airbases that we partially lease as there is no operational security there.

Also, Shamsi and Dalbandin are close in and there are no intervening mountain ranges to cross to get to the FATA and NWFP.

This op was an open secret but was too politically sensitive for the Pakis to talk openly about.
