How many cars with F the President did this cop pull over in the last 8 years?

That's one question that needs to be asked, here. I won't wait for it to be.

AFAIC, (at least assuming this article is correct, a big assumption to be sure) The Secret Service acted properly. They received a tip from local law enforcement that the president had received a threat. They checked it out, found nothing, and moved on. I'd argue that they'd be remiss NOT to check it out.

However - the idiot that made the original stop needs to have his badge shoved up his stupid incompetent ass. Normally, I side with cops, not this time.

Not that it matters a whole lot, but the race of the cop was left out. I bet I can guess it. And, if there was even a sniff of, erm, "caucasian racism", the race of the cop would be prominently mentioned.

The issue is not whether they should have checked it out or not. The sign itself should have given them a clue and certainly a check of police files and lookout lists would have sufficed. The fact that they felt it necessary to have a walk thru of the individual's house to determine if he was a member of some undefined "hate groups" should send shivers through anyone who believes in the US Constitution. What the SS did is indefensible.

And who in the police department was responsible for reporting this to the SS? Is this a rogue officer or a flawed policy within the police department? This incident should never have been reported to the SS. It should have been squashed at the local level.

Call me a romantic fool. I just sent this to the Secret Service email account:

This is probably not going to be answered by you, but I am concerned that local law enforcement all across the USofA is using the Secret Service to harass certain individuals who do not support the current President.

My Question: During President Bush's 8 years, how many persons (just a number) have been investigated because local law enforcement (anywhere in the USofA) has reported to the Secret Service Agency that the person has/had a bumper sticker on their car OR who have/had signs in his yard which have been or could have been interpreted as harmful threats to President Bush?

What I failed to tell them is that I have a file with the FBI because of my father's extremely high security rating while his company had contracts to work on various weapons or airplanes for the US Government. They know my name, address, etc. And I have a sign in my yard that says:
Are U Better Off Now Than When Bush Was President?
