Two US congressmen visit Gaza
GAZA CITY (AFP) — US congressmen Brian Baird and Keith Ellison, both Democrats, were in Gaza on Thursday, the first such visit since the Islamist Hamas seized power in the Palestinian territory in June 2007.
The pair visited Izzbet Abed Rabbo, a community in northern Gaza devastated during the deadly 22-day Israeli offensive that ended on January 18.

The visit “does not indicate any shift whatsoever with respect to Hamas,” Mr Kerry, who heads the Senate’s powerful foreign relations committee, said before crossing from Israel into the Palestinian enclave aboard a UN vehicle. And I should believe a politician for exactly what reason? Him especially?

The same Keith Ellison who was at the Hamas rally on the MN State Capitol steps a month or so ago. They were protesting the Israelis actions in Gaza. He was there to show his support for Palestinians and the Hamas people actually shouted him down and he left. Doesn’t surprise me at all that he is in Gaza now.

Even with all of the security he probably has around him, that’s really a stupid thing to do. But, it’s Kerry. I’m sure the next stop is Switzerland for his ski vacation.
