The next shoe has dropped at General Motors and it has landed squarely on performance-car enthusiasts. Just when things were getting really tasty, GM has disbanded the High Performance Vehicle Operations unit of the company's Performance Division.

Nothing will kill the Corvette. Nothing. Remember when Studebaker folded in 1965? The Avanti was purchased by a bunch of enthusiasts and they are still made to this day as the Avanti II. ... Same appearance. The major difference is a Chevy Powerplant after retiring the Studebaker 289.
