Yeah, we have been really lucky with the fires so far. We live about 400 miles west of where the fires are. We can smell the smoke and it has caused the sunset to be bright red (actually kind of pretty). We normally get little rainfall and high temperatures and fires, but the temperatures have were 115-120 F for a week. It is down in the 90’s now.

Of course, all the GWR nuts are saying the fires were caused by global warming (about half were arsonists). They discount we are having record rains in the Northeast —the receive 14 inches of rain three days ago just north of Sydney which broke the drought there.

Many of the residents are blaming the Greens and the Global Warming activists for the massive destructions of the homes as they were not allowed to clear the brush and cut down trees in the towns like Marysville. So there is a big fight between he activist and the residents.

yeah, that’s the funny thing about GLOBAL warming— first it’s here, then it’s there, you can just never quite catch up with it. Hey, sounds like that old concept, “weather.”
