I see an editorial cartoon combining the too real absurdity of two current events:
1. The signing of the stimulus, a nearly $800 billion dollar spending bill that Democrats forced through the House and Senate without reading. 2. The tabloidesque horror of a Connecticut chimpanzee that severely mauled a woman before being shot down by police officers it attempted to attack.
The editorial cartoonist was clearly intoning that a deranged chimp couldnt have authored a bill any worse than the boondoggle created by Nancy Pelosi in her little fiefdom we call the House of Representatives.
Like clockwork, however, the angry spoiled children of the media left race-baiting industry cried Wolf! Racist! Here we go, yet again:...

Well, as Curly would have said: “I resemble that remark!”
I even dredged up one titled Chimpy McHitler.
So the concept of referring to our president as an ape is not new, it's established, mainstream, and I think we should continue.
Alinsky said that in politics ridicule is a very effective tool, and this chimp meme seems to resonate.
If the diaper fits....
Sorry - and I know I’ll catch a lot of heat for this - but I don’t buy this argument. The cartoon was in horrible taste. The link of a monkey to Obama is easy to see.
I am a right leaning conservative and I abhor politcal correctness as much as Obama’s socialist policies - but this cartoon should not have made it on the pages of one of my two favorite newspapers - the other being the Wall Street Journal.

“The link of a monkey to Obama is easy to see”....Now THAT’s Racist!!! :)
With those ears Obama looks more like a chimp than Bush ever did...so why not say it and draw it?
Has everyone already forgot about Travis and the possible connection? (Or did this happen before Travis was shot dead?)
Get over it ~ if this sort of thing (showing the President as a monkey) didn't bring us together as a nation in the past, then why do the Democrats indulge in the practice.
I say it's good for community building and harmony. Those who are offended will jump up, scream, and become targets for the new National Volunteer Security Force.
The link of a monkey to Obama is easy to see.
Especially since the gubment doesn’t want us to even give a hint that intelligent design may have something to do with our creation, then HE must have evolved from a monkey.
Sure, if you're one of the perpetually offended class.
Otherwise it's quite a stretch, since the caption clearly refers to WRITING a bill, and O'bama didn't WRITE the bill.
It's clearly referrring to Reid and Pelosi, but that doesn't bring in the racism bucks, so keep trying.
The socially radioactive term 'racist' will be used against any critic, even a cartoon, and all discussion will be expected to cease. Al Sharpton is a master at using the term 'racist' like a club to attack anyone he decides should be silenced or shaken down - or both, depending on the person and the circumstances.
This will work for awhile but eventually the public will get sick of, in effect, being called 'racist' because they disagree with some loony left legislation proposed by Obama. Free (political) Speech cannot be stifled by PC shenanigans and baseless name-calling.
Overreaching will be the Democrat's downfall and over-using the term 'racist', as a way to instantly stop any discussion and smear anyone who objects to anything Obama does or says will backfire. The sooner, the better.
I don’t think the monkey looks like Obama at all...the monkey has holes in him, and he’s not very well dressed.
You will get no heat from me. This cartoon was in very bad taste and does nothing to further the conservative cause.
as you should due to the phrase in your next paragraph.
...I abhor politcal correctness...
If so, then this should be funny as all get-outs and I know,
...THAT'S RACIST!
Really? Obama did not write the bill and publicly said he hadn't read it. I think you are too easily offended.
Izzy, et al,
I am quite aware it was the President who wrote the bill. He didn’t pen one article for the Harvard Law Review so 1,100 pages would be way to much to ask. But the bill has his name all over and you know it. To ignore the any link of a monkey to POTUS is disingenuous at best. But to each their own...your certainly entitled to your opinion and I mine.
I am the furthest thing from the perpetually offended. I hate sissy liberals who cry wolf at the slightest of slights.
I just happen to think for myself and not be an ideologue. And I feel this crosses a line - that is all. I hate those that did the same to Bush yet deify The Messiah.
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
An interesting point to consider, who was behind this cartoon? Since anything negative about BHO will be construed as racist, which responsible newspaper would run this cartoon except to implant in the “less than knowledgeable” general population’s mind that republicans are racists. We’ll know a lefty was behind this when this story disappears, of course we’ll probably be lectured to by none other than Kathleen Parker.
Sorry - meant to say that POTUS did NOT write the bill.
