ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) Bristol Palin loves motherhood, but the teenage daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she's not getting much sleep these days.
Bristol Palin says in a two-part interview on Fox News Channel's "On the Record" that she wishes her pregnancy had "happened in, like, 10 years so I could have a job and an education and be, like, prepared and have my own house and stuff."
Palin goes on to say that son Tripp, born Dec. 27, brings her so much joy, she doesn't regret having him at all. She's engaged to the baby's father, Levi Johnston.
The governor also made an appearance in the interview, which took place Sunday in Fairbanks.
Part one of the interview aired Monday night and the second part was scheduled to air Tuesday night.

Bristol was a minor when she became pregnant, which is the problem that catapulted her to national notoriety:
“And what year it has been for this family. Governor Palin grabbed headlines in the lower 48 when she was chosen to be Senator John McCain’s running mate. Just days later, the headlines kept coming, Governor Palin announcing her then-17-year-old unmarried daughter, Bristol, was pregnant. Since that announcement, the now 18-year-old engaged young mother has remained out of the spotlight — until right now.”
Your difficulty in comprehending what I write does not by itself make my writing dishonest. An impartial third party can arbitrate whether the fault is with my writing or your comprehension, but in neither case is it dishonest.
Oh, now it's a new subject that Sarah Palin fails at. It's not just her moral failings you have a problem with.
Your honesty quotient just dropped a little more. The agenda becomes clearer and clearer.
Have you ever made a mistake in your life? Ever received a ticket? Was your car taken away forever by your parents, or did they perhaps, trust that you would learn from your mistake?
See, that's why mistakes happen, so we can learn from them. But you'd rather continue punishing Bristol and Levi because they don't fit into your marriage timeframe.
Again, answer me this: if they got married and then divorced within two years, would that be ok with you? Or would you advocate giving the child to someone else?
“So because they are unwilling to make that commitment now, or in your time frame it seems, they should give up their child, right?”
I reiterate that the child deserves parents committed to each other and the child from day one. They don’t seem to fit that bill.
“Average” clearly trumps “nice.” Huh???
To quote our Dear Leader, to judge the morality (sexual or otherwise) of another is ‘way above my pay grade.’
I already posted that quote. The context is exactly what I said it was: the Bristol pregnancy made Sarah Palin’s discussion of abstinence sound naive.
Tell me more about dishonesty, you seem to be an authority.
But unwed pregnacies haven’t been a major issue, other than than the whole welfare thing now. Palin’s kid doesn’t have the welfare thing going on so that’s not an issue.
For the rest of society, we’ll do what we’ve always done, and just teach our kids and hope for the best and deal with the mistakes.
Personally, I think we aren’t teaching our kids to be accountable and responsible.Or some of us aren’t. In my world, collecting a welfare check is the lowest of the low, it just isn’t done. In other families, it’s a 3rd or 4th generation thing that’s acceptable.
I don’t know what the answer is.
You live in fantasy land. Bristol Palin has been talked about since last August, non stop, especially by the liberal MSM. Did it ever occur to you the reason she went on Greta was to set the lies straight? Of course not. You’re too worried about watching some marriage countdown clock.
Oh, you’re dishonest alright. I have no doubt about that.
You know well that someone else asked my opinion of the leading Republican contenders. It’s not dishonest to point out the fact that Palin walked into a punch with Couric that a trained media professional might have been expected to handle better.
I also think it was Bristol’s view to let the public know
(contrary to the lib media) that she and Levi are finishing their schooling and not living on foodstamps and after grad. in May , Levi getting a job they will be married.
Levi will probably be able to get a job on the North slope again after he grads.
Or a further question I would ask would be if Bristol/Levi divorced, should the option of adopting the child out of the single parent home again be an option? My whole argument here is the moral absolutes that have been pinned to the Palin family that don’t hold water in real life terms.
Again, I go back to PDS...no one can live up to the high standards that some here want to set. Ronald Reagan, arguably one of the best Presidents ever was....(keep this on the QT)....divorced. Shhhhh....
“To quote our Dear Leader, to judge the morality (sexual or otherwise) of another is way above my pay grade.”
Do you lock your doors at night?
Thanks for your take. I haven’t watched the interview in full. I’ll try to watch tomorrow in full.
From what I’ve seen and read so far, I can’t find fault with Bristol’s interview.
You know, I think you would have been happier had Bristol had an abortion. You have already tried and convicted Bristol and Levi as bad parents because they are not married. You aren't even willing to give them a chance because YOU don't like the fact they didn't exchange vows.
What?
You make far too much sense. Stop it!!!!!
LOL...as do you...FRiend
*They dont seem to fit that bill.*
You know this how? Do you see them everyday, do you hear
their everyday converstaions.
You just assume and there is your problem.
“Have you ever made a mistake in your life? Ever received a ticket? Was your car taken away forever by your parents, or did they perhaps, trust that you would learn from your mistake?”
Let’s see. The answers are: yes; yes; no; yes (I suppose).
None of this bears on the morality of letting children “learn from their mistakes” at the expense of their own irresponsibly conceived children.
I’ve already stipulated that a sham shotgun wedding is not the correct way out of the mess that the children created. This will make the fifth time, I believe, that I have stipulated that I think adoption was probably the best option for these two.
