Amen to that.....
Does $7B cover their nut for the week?
Didn’t they just submit their reorganization plans today?
Did the boy wonder have time to review them and deem them to be good business plans already?
nobama probably said they did not need 48 hours to review.....
That money should last for a good two weeks.
Were the original loans to the car companies just a down payment?
I thought, maybe mistakenly, that they were loans to tide them over until their new business plans were drawn up.
Are they going to come back every few months for several more billion each, because they are “too big to fail”, or because their business plans haven’t worked?????
Great oversight. Give them the money, let them spend it, then scream and holler that the plan includes a coffee machine in the executive suite.
I believe it's enough operating capital for two to three weeks for both companies combined.
$7 billion? That’s it? I think they bleed that much cash in the amount of time it has taken me to write this post.
Banks should be in line next....
I thought they were supposed to get this second installment after the business plan was approved by The One (after he gets back from the gym). Wonder if he knows how to read a balance sheet. He should bone up if he wants to be a captain of industry.
ABC News had a SURPRISINGLY tough piece on the Congressional Dems with respect to this issue. It focused on the private aircraft use of the companies that received or will recieve federal bailout money. It showed a number of Democrats (and only Dems) berating these perks during Congressional hearings with the CEO's.
Then, and this is the surprising part, Karl Whateverhisnameis, from ABC then detailed all the the trips that these same Congressional Democrats have taken on Government owned planes to foreign destination in the last year. It was really embarrassing for the Dems. And, I will say a pleasure to watch. Karl really stuck it to them.
I guess, every once in a while even a blind journalist finds a good story.
The interesting thing about this is how fast msnbc changed the title to the article.....still comes up in my tool bar as the original thread title....
I wish I had seen it.
Next I wish they would expose how many of the former dem “public servants” entered Congress as middle class folks and exited as millionaires.
BAILOUTS?
Where’s mine?
I want one!
They get billions for mismanagement
I pay my bills and I get nothing
and for those on the radio and TV who say “I enjoy my parks that taxes pay for” We have no park here. Small town. We have no zoo. We have no real museum. etc.
