TAMPA, Fla. — Alex Rodriguez said it "feels great to be moving forward" Tuesday during his first press conference since he admitted using steroids in an interview last week.

Rodriguez, who acknowledged using the substance as a Texas Ranger during the 2001-03 seasons, said the decision was a "stupd mistake and lesson learned for a guy with a lot of baseball left to play."

A-Rod giving press conference on now live. He mentioned 'Ripped Fuel'. I think that's twin labs. Since the steriods in MBL broke, congress banned both ephedrine and Andro. Sucks, I like both. I don't care if MBL bans it, but congress shouldn't ban it for the rest of us. I think ephedrine was banned because High School kids were taking 50 times the recommended dose and dying, so congress bans it for everyone.

He should STFU and give back his MVP award when he took the roids’. His credibility is as low as Hussein’s right now.

I was hoping A-Rod was for real. This is very disappointing to an “old timey” baseball fan like myself. The steroid boys of summer is not my gig.

Honestly, I’d just like to roll back baseball to about 1955. Less drama, less money bloated ego’s, more baseball.

This whole steroid-era is like pulling a loose thread on your favorite sweater.

I think if you picked at the Pete Rose gambling thing a little more, you’d find that his unsavory ‘friends’ (gym-rats all) were probably dealing steroids as well as taking bets. Wanna bet that some of those steroids made their way into some clubhouses back in the day?

I don’t watch or support any professional sports.....and this is a big part of the reason why.

The 50’s and 60’s was the painkiller and Bennies (speed) era.
No difference really. Perhaps more illegal than A-rod.

"Take me with you A-Rod! ...and fast!"

I hope the biggest jerk in professional sports gets what's coming to him!

PS. Have a great day Roger!

*Alex Rodriguez said it “feels great to be moving forward”*

This is what his highly paid media advisors told him to say? Basically, this is the same line that McGwire peddled in front of Congress. It sure takes some cojones. “Hey, I am guilty, and y’all just found out about it like, 2 days ago, but let’s MOVE FOWARD and forget all that stuff—okay?”

Sheesh.

Let’s put an asterisk next to every pitcher that had Tommy John surgery, every repaired rotator cuff, every player who had cadaverous ACL reconstruction, every player who had a diagnostic MRI revealing soft tissue damage needing repair.

Why single out pharmaceutical advances as cheating (when not specifically banned)? I’m no ARod apologist, but as long as what he was doing was within the rules of the game, I have no problem with it.

Of course most of them were taking it illegally. It’s kind of a sad statement on baseball that illegal uses of substances weren’t against the rules.

Actually, he said he DID know what he was taking. I watched the press conference and he did seem genuinely repentant unlike many of the other guys who have come out and addressed their use. Is it right? Of course not. Did he make a mistake by doing it? Definitely. Should he be held accountable for his actions? Yes, so long as the other people on the list are as well. However, I think, judging from the video, that he learned his lesson and he's right to want to move forward and get past this so long as he stays clean from here on out.
