My 7-year old joined the Cub Scouts in October. We are right now working on his first Pinewood Derby Car. I'm having the time of my life reliving my childhood through him. And I just turned 50 so I need this as much as he does.

A few years ago my son-now a second class scout with one merit badge coming entered the Pinewood Derby. He came in first in his den and 5th in his pack. I was so happy-it was the first time I had won something in 50 odd years.

I am an assistant scoutmaster and soon to be merit badge counselor.
