I believe they requested no pardon, as they want to clear their names. Same as Scooter.

A PARDON does clear one's name....and restores all rights.

I bet they do not look forward to more meat-grinding in a court of law...especially with federal courts during the Obama administration.

BTW, Cheney lobbied Bush for a Pardon for Scooter.

Legally, yes. There is still a stigma, right or wrong.

They requested the communtation to fight in the 5th Circuit (appellate court) and clear name legally and practically.
