I find it mind-boggling. The very idea of European countries acting just like European countries is tough to accept. Thus it has been for countless generations..thus it shall always be. Of course, with time out for occasional attempts at improvement.
Whatever “feel good” actions are taken, when it comes to basics, countries ALL have “self interests”. Thus says all of history....thus says human nature. Sad, but true.
