Don't blame me, I voted for Ron Paul Part II
The New Jersey Star-Ledger ^ | February 14, 2009 | Paul Mulshine

How quickly they forget.

All these dupes of the national Republican Party, I mean.

Just a few months ago John McCain was promising a plan that would have created a budget deficit equal to or greater than the one now being created by Barack Obama.

But now that it's Obama who's in the White House, the Beltway Republicans are trying to convince us that they've seen the light and converted to fiscal conservatism.

Cutting taxes while doing nothing about the size of government is sheer lunacy. If being “conservative” these days means proposing tax cuts because the cuts will bring in even more money to the government, then the word has lost all meaning. Cutting spending is conservative. Cutting government is conservative. Cutting taxes while continually increasing government is destroying the country. All “conservatives” have to offer anymore is more tax schemes to more efficiently rob us. This is not conservative.

The Republicans mistake in the primaries was that instead of saying, “Ron’s right on a lot of issues but...” disagreeing with him on foreign policy, they pilloried his economic ideas, small governmetn ideas, et al. That left a bad taste in my mouth.

They were still fighting so THEY could play Santa with the Treasury instead of the Dems. That was/is the wrong game to play.

PS - Good luck funding a war in Iraq or anyplace else with these deficits.

“There is a world of difference between Republicans and Democrats politically”

Philosophically, Yes. Once they get a taste of DC power...they’re all the same. Power and Money.

It is far easier to bitch than to govern...just ask Odumbo.

Any sense of *coming to the rescue* we might be receiving from Washington, (from either party) is an illusion. They're robbing us blind and setting us up for future thefts. Paving the way for the eventual Socialist takeover.

This supposed *2 party system* is nothing more than a distraction.

Paul was right and tried to warn us several years back. Maybe we’ll listen now if it’s not too late.

His isolationist, “war is NEVER the answer” stupidity might make him untenable as a POTUS candidate... But Dr. Paul is FAR to the Right of most of the rest of the GOP faithful on economic and Bill of Rights issues.

this fing moron threw his vote away on Ron Paul (effectively giving the Dems another vote)

Sorry, no. He probably would not have voted at all - given the choice between liberal and liberal lite, then it makes little difference in the long run.

borderbots have gotten exactly what they wanted...no RINOs.
that handed total control to the far left Democrats. 7 out of 10 of the most liberal Republicans are out of office...each one replaced by a DEMOCRAT.

Still better than turning the GOP into less far left liberal trash, and leaves a chance at electing conservatives in the future. -
Any GOP member who would attach his name to a corrupt kook like Kennedy deserves no respect from conservatives - McCain/Kennedy

each one replaced by a DEMOCRAT.Enjoy it you morons!!!

That’s how I always felt. I think the GOP disenfranchised a lot of libertarian and potential Republican voters with their behavior towards Paul. To be fair I think a lot of those people were kind of wacko and out there, but if they saw that the GOP was embracing limited government and at the very least welcoming some differing views, it would have gone a lot further than just dismissing Paul.

So if Ron Paul was the savior why did he NOT warn us about what the liberals were doing to the economy. Seems to me he was far more concerned in stopping US from fighting barbaric uncivilized terrorists in their own sand pits, than preserving our economy.

I never paid much attention to Ron Paul especially went he ranted against the ‘war’, but I have no memory of him warning anybody about the looming housing bubble and the liberal bankers spreading toxic debt through out the economic system.

Yeah, right....you're no longer going to elect conservatives in those areas (in case you haven't noticed).

Why don't you take your comments back to Liberty Post or Stormfront.

Did McQueeg support abortion? Abandoning the WOT? The Fairness Doctrine? Disarming US citizens?

No....you are not paying attention.

Global warming, illegal immigration, Gitmo. Like I said, the illusion is there for rationalizing.

Look beyond the *2 party system*. The similarities between McCain and Obama will astound you.

McManiac was the last choice for most Republicans...he was still far better than Obama.

We are already seeing what the Dems are going to do on GW, Gitmo. Wait till you see what comes down the road on illegal immigration....I expect the Dems will give them immediate citizenship and reparations for their treatment at the hands of Republicans. We certainly won’t need GWB’s fence anymore.

Even though McQueeg was wrong on those issues and others, he would have been nowhere near as radical as the Dems. We would have had the opportunity to fight them...

We’re doomed now....in part thanks to short sighted, Donner Party “conservatives”.

“There is a world of difference between Republicans and Democrats politically....if the last month hasn’t shown that to you, you are willfully blind.”

Sam Stein: “But the quickness with which both McCain and Graham have become political allies in the Obama cause is something to behold. Certainly, it affects the debate that has been waged among progressive over the utility of the president’s often-public GOP outreach. On Monday night, Obama headlined a dinner honoring McCain’s service.”

uh huh! I’m seeing a lot of differences. /s
