Don't blame me, I voted for Ron Paul Part II
The New Jersey Star-Ledger ^ | February 14, 2009 | Paul Mulshine

How quickly they forget.

All these dupes of the national Republican Party, I mean.

Just a few months ago John McCain was promising a plan that would have created a budget deficit equal to or greater than the one now being created by Barack Obama.

But now that it's Obama who's in the White House, the Beltway Republicans are trying to convince us that they've seen the light and converted to fiscal conservatism.

The federal deficit had absolutely nothing to do with the housing bust

I wasn't talking about the federal deficit. I was, however, talking about linear thinking. It's a dangerous and seductive mental trap.

There’s no reason to believe the president didn’t ask for it to be done seeing as that’s textbook classic economics, though it would have been regardless.

Of course it would have burst, but that means we should inflate it bigger?

Listen...I defended Reagan’s tax cuts, defense spending, and resulting deficits and debt because I believed it was worth it and it would work eventually.

My arguments on behalf of GWB are the same. The difference is that I am defending him against “conservatives” and was defending Reagan against liberals.

The libs were wrong then (history now proves it) and you are wrong now. Just as Reagan beat the USSR, GWB has laid the groundwork for the defeat of Islamic jihad. The worth of either is incalculable.

Before the effects of Reagan’s tax cuts became apparent, we suffered through the recession of 90-91. With Obama in office, we may never see the fruits of GWB’s tax cuts, because he could never get them permanently in place. That doesn’t mean that he was wrong.

It is also undeniable that our economy was cooking along up until 2006 or so.

Unless you were John Kerry and the Dems....remember 2004 was the worst economy since the depression.....man, what a lie!!!

His hands were tied! He could not intentionally put the nation back into recession.

I didn’t vote for Paul or McCain or anyone else in the general. (McQueeg had Texas wrapped up)

I do know Paul warned of this economic crisis a couple of years ago and no one listened. (apparently some still are not) I’ll give him credit where it is due.

See post #206. I’m not a Paul supporter (nor McQueeg) so, you idiots that can’t read need to take a hike.

Do you remember Willie Green? He posted over and over that we were facing economic doom. In the long run, he was right..

If you listened to him in the meantime though, you would have gone out of business, or at least lost years of profit.

Timing is the secret to real prophecy.

I predict the earth will be hit by another asteroid....

There are differences ONLY when the Pubbies are in the minority and feeling the heat from their electorate. Remember, it was YOUR Pubbies who gave us all that unfettered spending under Bush that made even the Klowntoon Regime look Conservative. There are ONLY incremental differences between the two halves of the ruling party at the best of times. Especially at the federal level. I AM, however, quite pleased with South Carolina’s governor and other senator. Just as I am extremely pleased with Dr. Paul and wish he’d done better in the primaries, so I would not have had to waste my General Election vote on the McLame abomination.

Paulites and borderbots have gotten exactly what they wanted...no RINOs. Problem is, that handed total control to the far left Democrats. 7 out of 10 of the most liberal Republicans are out of office...each one replaced by a DEMOCRAT.

No RINOs? Not yet but we're working on it!

Here we go again, defending the indefensible by blaming EVERYONE ELSE except the people and party that caused THEIR OWN DEFEAT, Bush and the rest of the idiots ensured their own defeat by acting like liberals...(Unchecked Government growth, Out of control Spending, Amnesty, TARP and the list goes on...)

Obama is in office because the GOP threw a pansy "moderate" up as their candidate...

Obama is in office becasue BUSH acted like a frigging liberal with his big Government growth and spending...

Obama is in office because the majority of the GOP base would rather get their corrupt party back into power than do what is right for America...

So please give me a frigging break, you want to know why the Dems won and the GOP keeps losing... take a good look in the mirror... If you value winning over your morals, beliefs and values then you will get exactly what the GOP has been offering and giving you for years... more of the same DEM LITE!

Yeah, I get carried away sometimes. During Bush's first election I thought (and prayed) that he would be another Reagan, and when it didn't turn out that way, everyone was basically forced to vote for him the second time to boot Kerry...

After that vote I swore I would NEVER do such a thing again... and I won't! It just ticks me totally off when GOP loyalist will not face the reality that THEY did this to their own party, instead they try to put the blame everywhere else.
