“Most on this forum believe in the right guaranteed by our Constitution to be free from unreasonable intrusion by others, including the federal government.”
So who do I call when smokers are filling a room with their smoke? I would say that is an unreasonable intrusion by others....
In the meantime... stock up on the good stuff http://www.cigarettetobacco.com/ourtob1.htm
I don’t smoke. I don’t like the smell or what it does to anyone’s health. I make choices in where I decide to go based on if there is smoking. I prefer to patronize non-smoking establishments. However, I am sure I have habits that bother others. Don’t fine people for their legal activities. And, that is what this is, a punishment. Just like the local cops here stopping people for anything, it is all about money. Not safety, not better health, it is revenue.
Your arguement lays the groundwork to tax cars, fireplaces, BBQs, power plants, factorys.. etc etc
flatulence
It aint cigarette smoke ☺
I’ve been using Farmer’s Gold from rollyourown.com for years.
Thats what I use, but D&R’s Ramback is a fantastic turkish.
I will be ordering a case or two of that while the getting is good
I am against this taxing. lol If you want to smoke, you should not be taxed to death. What is next? We know alcohol, fast food, then what? Talk about anti-stimulus!
So you're opposed to using the tax code to get people to marry? To stay married? To have kids? To go to Christian schools? To tithe? To own a home? And all the other behaviors needed to ensure a moral society. (which is the government's job)
IMO, some behaviors should be encouraged by the government.
Why are you even IN a room filled with smoke? Don't you have any control over where you are?
Did you know that the bubbley effervescence in your soda pop is actually CO2? A Substance recognized by our congress as a greenhouse gas?
Stand by for taxation. the groundwork has been laid.
Twinkies? ding Dongs? HoHo’s? well... they add to the scourge of type II diabetes dont ya know, and that places a burden on our health system.
Taxes are coming to all those folks who approve of this kind of taxation for smokers. Its coming faster than I thought.
The good news is that you can store Twinkies for 50 years at room temp without them going bad L0L
remember way back when, when they first levied a tobacco tax to offset heath costs for smokers?
Well we have paid and paid and paid, and guess what?
When the new dept of HealthCzar starts in a few months we will be the FIRST to be denied treatment.
Mark my words.
It’s for the childrunz
Since WHEN are those behaviors the responsibility of the government? They most definitely are NOT! And that is one of the main ‘progrommes’ (too) many people are using to absolutely DESTROY what once was our nation.
They hate smokers so much they are blind!
Agreed. See my post @ #36.
Make everyman a potential criminal, Make them wear the Gubmint yoke
