Well, the history is that we used to have Washington’s Birthday and Lincoln’s Birthday—two holidays for the two greatest presidents, as people used to think of them.

Then the revisionists changed it to “Presidents Day.” It’s still presumably in honor of Washington and Lincoln, but they are no longer named. They don’t really want little kids to know too much about the history of their country. Also, Lincoln was a Republican.

No doubt those who changed it hoped that people would think it was also about celebrating FDR and JFK or something.

This wasn’t accidental; it was deliberate and Orwellian.
