I know from what little knowledge I have about this subject that is that these youngsters had a history of intestinal problems along with ear problems.

I believe with every part of me that the gut has a role in this. There is a book by Karen DeFelice making the case for enzymes. It probably helps. In the case of my grandson, I am grateful that my daughter chose to not put him on any drugs. Would the outcome have been this good? We don't really know but I know those drugs cause a great deal of harm and I am very much anti-drug. If that makes me a crazy, that's ok with me. I don't care but I've seen the damage done by indiscriminate use of drugs.

Me too!
Not all drugs are bad, but not all of them are good either.

What’s the case for enzymes?
