They do that, especially when they smell blood in the water like they did in '06 and '08. They took out party heavyweights like Libby Dole, for cripes' sake. They're like sharks. The GOP could use a little more shark-like quality. When there's blood in the water, like in IL, we should swoop in.
Yeah, they sought to embarrass the GOP on Dick Cheney's turf by attempting to take out the weak and underperforming Barbara Cubin in WY in '06. Thankfully she stepped aside and we retained the seat with a stronger GOP woman.

I think Liz Dole's heft was gravely overstated. When she won in 2002, that was the first race she'd ever really run. She took her race for granted in '08 and only fought back when it was too late. The fact that she lost to an insignificant SECOND tier nobody of a candidate was just testament to Dole's political incompetence. Sue Myrick probably would've been a preferable candidate to have run back in '02, and she at least knows how to win in an urban district.

You're preaching to the choir here. The GOP is just too nice, too sweet, too accommodating, too gutless. We let the Democrats rape and kill us and we say, "Thank you, sir, may I have another ?" I've said all along we should treat the Dems like the loudmouthed schoolyard bullies that they are and knock their f**king teeth down their throats, and not apologize for doing it. Hug-a-thug gets us precisely nothing.
