Here is a letter sent today to the San Antonio Express News:

Forrest Gump’s quote “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get” has had special meaning this weekend.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Congress passed the economic stimulus bill, and what a gift it is! While the Express-News crows about the stimulus funds that our caring Congress is sending to Texas and to San Antonio, they conveniently forget something. These are OUR tax dollars in the first place! Not just our tax dollars from Texas, mind you, but our children’s and our children’s children’s tax dollars. All this from our hired representatives in Washington who never met a pay raise for themselves that they didn’t like, and whose own individual records of paying taxes are spotty at best.

Forrest Gump is right. When you open that box of Valentine’s Day chocolates, be wary of the large turd that came from Washington DC.

I think life is a box of chocolates. Conservatives get the box with the candies marked so they do know what they are getting and liberals get the box with nothing marked because they don't care, they just want the sweet stuff.
