Gilani left the United States in 1993 and appeared later in the year at the Islamists Popular Arab and Islamic Confernce held in Khartoum. He then surfaced in the Islamist struggle for Kashmir and was supported by former members of the Pakistani ISI, including its former leader Beg. After he left the Al Fuqra, which had been especially powerful in Colorado and Michigan and had been infiltrated by local police, the movement reportedly died out. The outfit may have been revived, but the information provided thus far does not provide the specifics needed, or the leadership present, that could make that judgement possible.
